Thirty-Nine Achievements of Mine

1. I was born into this world on 23 August 1970.
2. I gave myself a name. The first thing I said was 'Tai-Tai'. From then onwards, everyone calls me 'Tai-Tai'.
3. I called my father 'Papa'
4. I called my mother 'Mama'
5. I called my elder sister 'Jiejie'
6. I called my younger brother 'Weng-Weng.
7. I learnt how to walk.
8. I produced my first comic book at age seven.
9. I was in top 10 three terms in a row in Primary Six.
10.I completed my primary school education.
11. 'Sinbad The Sailor' is the first English story book that I read.
12. I was the best pupil in Art from Primary One to Six.
13.I entered secondary school.
14. I became the best student in Art when I was in Form Three.
15. My grandpa in Brunei told my cousins with pride that I wrote good Chinese.
16. I was one of the top 3 students in Forms Four and Five two years in a row.
17. I went to Kuching for my Form Six education.
18. I scored 2As 2Bs and 1C for my STPM. But I was not accepted in any local universities.
19. I became a hotel receptionist in 1992, that was my first job.
20. I scored six hundred plus in TOEFL.
21. I worked as an enumerator for my second job.
22. I was accepted into the teachers' training college.
23. In Semester Five, I became the second best student in the teachers' training college.
24. I graduated from the Teachers' Training college, proving to my naysayers that I could become a qualified English teacher.
25. I was posted to SMK St. Joseph as a trained English teacher.
26. I was appointed as a choir teacher.
27. My choir emerged first in a competition, and fifth in a grand competition.
28. I was accepted to do a long distance course in TESL.
29. I got my first A in a literature paper.
30. I went to Shanghai, Suzou, Wuxi, Yangzhou and Nanjing in 2006.
31. Tan was transferred to my school. He is now my best friend.
32. I got APC.
33. I made friends with my first online friend, Kathleen Link, through Yahoo 360.
34. I graduated from IDEAL, UPM.
35. I sought forgiveness from my parents.
36. I survived depression in 2009.
37. I went to Hunan in December 2009.
38. I got promoted twice in 2011.
39. I attended Robert Raymer's writing workshops from April to October 2011.
