My Camera Charger

I lost my camera charger in August last year and as a result, its battery became flat and I could not use my camera to take pictures.  It was not a big deal to me and I did not make an effort to search for it.  However, my recent plan to take the pictures of my cooking endeavors compelled me to get a new charger at 10.30 this morning. The charger, not an original one, cost me RM70 plus a USB plug.

Excitedly, I went home and tried out the charger.  After charging the camera battery for two hours,  I inserted it back to the camera.  I pressed the 'power' button but the lens did not emerge from the camera. Frustrated, I attempted to recharge the battery but the charger indicated that it had been fully charged.

"Damn it," I said in frustration. "I will return to the shop and ask the shopkeeper to give me a more competent charger."

I put the new charger back into its plastic case and hurled myself on my bed.  With my heart feeling anxious about the camera, I kept tossing and turning.  An idea suddenly struck me and I began to search all over my house for my lost charger.  My instinct told me that I must have misplaced it in my house.

I turned out all my drawers in search for the charger but it remained elusive. Just as I began to lose all hope, a red basin next to my bed caught my eye. There were a lot of things in the deep basin, such as receipts, pills, notes and various plugs.  They testified the fact that I was a hopeless clutterer.  While fumbling through the disorganized mess in the basin,  my hand came in contact with a small, squarish object.  I took it up and had a good look at it.  Oh, praise the Lord! It was my long lost charger!

Having found the charger, I went on searching for its power plug. Fortunately, it did not take me a long time to find it.  Guess where I found it?  It was behind some books on my bookshelf!

"Thank God for unraveling the location of the charger and the plug to me." I said.  "But where is its USB plug?"

I looked at the new USB plug that I had bought and wondered if it could fit into the newly found charger.  I heaved a sigh of relief when it fitted snugly into the back slot.  Thrilled, I inserted the camera battery and turned on the switch.  Yippee! The indicator showed that the battery was being charged.

After one hour, I stopped charging the battery and put it back into the camera.  I wanted to test if there was enough power in the camera.  To my delight, the lens emerged from the camera when I pressed the 'power' button.  I then continued to recharge the battery.

In no time, I can use the camera to take pictures.
