Mean principal
Two years ago, the then principal Koh wanted to teach me a lesson by appointing a different teacher to take over my English Language Class. I still handled that class, but the subject I taught was Art. I was not happy with that decision, n insisted that I deal with English in that class.
And he taunted me, ' Why back down all of a sudden. Don't tell me you can't teach Art.' Earlier on, I had ever requested teaching art. But not in a way that disturbed my teaching of English. He could have asked me to teach other classes art, which had no teachers.
Hearing that, I stopped arguing with him. Not because he had won,but I had decided to let the git have his way. After all, he would retire soon. I only had to bide my time.
And so I started teaching art. And I had lots of fun. Most of the students liked me and it had opened my eyes to how they behaved in a different subject. It had also made me realize that the English language was not the be all and end all.
There was a reason why the then principal treated me badly . He had asked me to teach some students creative writing, but given their low level, it had not been easy to do so. And most importantly, I had once heard how the principal had been making fun of me in front of some teachers. He had said, 'That teacher is lousy. I asked him to teach creative creating not because he is capable, but I want to see how bad he copes with English.' So without hesitating, I had stopped conducting the class. It had angered the principal and that was why he had pulled me out of teaching the English language.
Plus, he had asked the students to snitch on me. The students, knowing nothing, had done his bidding just for money. And what they had told him was lies.
He is a bigot. If he had meant it, he would have asked me why I had stopped. And though I had stopped, I had actually diverted my attention to poor students. It had been better teaching poor students than that group of students, who had only been waiting for me to make mistakes.
I also found out that he had told some classes that I was no material for teaching English. This had proven that he was not professional enough.
N most importantly, he had been in good relation with my ex principal at st. Jo, who had been against me. That was why when the two had met, they had brewn something nasty.
With him gone, I have a better time teaching now. I am back to teaching English. Even though most of his lapdogs are still at school, I don't care about them and concentrate on my teaching. Yes, they are giving me lots of trouble, especially English teachers but I believe as long as I am sincere in teaching, no one can put me down. Besides, there are other teachers lending me support too. And they are committed teachers. As for the lapdogs, they rush through teaching so that they have time to do their businesses.
