choral Speaking Competition

My students took part in an inter school choral speaking on 14 April and we brought up the rear. Does it mean that we were not good? No, our presentation was alright but it was not as advanced as other schools. they showcased a lot of creative gestures and sound effects. our performance looked minuscule and bland in comparison with theirs. We will come back next year with a vengeance!

Love by Melissa(A Form Three Student)

Love                                                                                                                  -Melissa Sia -3 Achiever My story started from a boy, Alexius. I was a very shy girl and wouldn’t say a word unless necessary. He, on the other hand, was the class clown and very hyper.   On the first day of school, the class teacher arranged for him to sit beside me. Without any formal introductions fir...

Love(a student's writing)

Love means to have a strong affection or deep tender feelings for someone. I’m a high school student and yes, I have gone through those tingling and aching emotions once wait, twice. Well, it happened once upon a time and it did not end with a good ending. I can still remember the whole story clearly as though it just happened yesterday.             I was in Form 1 and high school was definitely a new surrounding for me. It’s not like primary school where you run and tag your friends then eat ice-cream and have stain all over your shirt. It was February when I received my ‘first-love-letter’. I was really keen to meet that particular mysterious guy. To make it short, we dated for some while after he had proposed to me.             My relationship was going on smoothly. He cared for me. I cared for him. In fact, we were kn...

My Student's Writing III

Name: Christz Augustine Title: A story ending with ‘I realized that my practical joke had turned into a nightmare’                                                            It was three o’clock in the afternoon.  I had a dip in my school’s swimming pool, enjoying the invigorating coolness of the water.  Under the glare of the sun, the strokes of swimmers created glittering ripples across the pool.  I cast a perfunctory glance at the bottom of the clear pool and my eyes were riveted to a bobbing thing.  I looked at the image the second time but it was distorted by the splashes on the water.               ...

My Student's Writing II

Name: Khairunnisa ‘Athaillah Class   : 1 Achiever Topic   : A Robbery           I could not sleep tonight. I felt uncomfortable. I tried to count until a hundred but I still could not sleep. I felt thirsty and went to the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator and drank some orange juice to quench my thirst. After that, I went back to my bedroom.          The needle on the wall clock in my room pointed to 12. I still could not sleep. I felt very hot so I changed the temperature of my air- conditioner to 15 degree Celsius. Everybody was deep in their slumber except me. I switched on the television in front of my bed and watched the ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ cartoon show.           When drowsiness began to sink in my system, a sound like broken glass from outside jerked me awake. I switched off the television and opened the window to investiga...

My student's Writing I

Love           There were no stars shining in the dark sky. The Moon was hidden among the dark clouds. Thunder rumbled and lightening flashed across the sky. It was a dark night as I lay on my bed, looking at the fan spinning. On my left hand was a bottle of medicine. Everything felt so empty after she was gone. It was hard to believe she had left me just like that, with a little note saying she was dead. Before I decided to end my life here, memories of me and her came flooding back to my mind.           “Jacob! Jacob! Wake up! Tuition’s over!”           I could barely feel something poking me. When I opened my eyes, it was my angel, Hazel. She stood there in front of me, her long hair silky and her smile sweet as usual. I felt so blessed to have met a girl like her.           “Stop dreaming and p...
